Ranked in top 2% of universities in the world, CQ University was originally founded in Rockhampton in 1967 as the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) Capricornia, it was awarded full university status in 1992, and now has more than 30,000 students spread across 25 campuses and locations Australia-wide.
CQ University Sydney is located in Kent Street in the heart of the city. It is easily accessible being just a five-minute walk to Town Hall station. With over 2000 international students, CQ University Sydney is the campus with the largest student population.
CQ University offers a more comprehensive approach to education and training and has one of the largest footprints of any tertiary education institution in Australia. On campus, there are many study areas filled with lots of natural light, making it very conducive for self-study and group work.
The school has 13 campuses; each with its own lively character and range of facilities and services as well as program and course offerings. On 1st July 2014 the school merged with CQ TAFE and now it is responsible for providing a diverse range of training and education programs and courses to more from certificate to doctorate level.
